Since Rafaela is now the SS (probably for the rest of the season), when Grissom is ready, do the Red Sox sent down Hamilton? Dalbec plays 1B and 3B, and he is right handed. Hamilton really has little value with Rafaela taking ALL on the time at SS. I mean is Valdez all that more valuable than Hamilton at that point? Valdez is hitting .143/.182/.257. To his credit, his defense at second base has gotten better but that's the only position he can play. Would rather send him down - Hamilton can backup 2B/SS and could pinch run.

Valdez has a .289 xwOBA which isn’t great but is way better than what his stats indicate. Hamilton basically has the yips. I’m keeping Valdez up especially because he does have the potential to hit at this level and Hamilton does not IMO. Pinch running would be nice but then you have to risk him in the field which has costed them multiple games already.

However, I am not a big Valdez fan and could see them sending both down and finding a left-handed first baseman who could at least split time with Dalbec at first until Casas is ready.

It’s crazy that Pablo Reyes has been bad to terrible at literally every single aspect of the game this year, but is at about a 0% chance of ever being sent down at this rate.

I think Reyes is out of options they’d probably have to DFA him, I understand why they wouldn’t do that vs sending one of the other two down, though I’d rather they just find a better player for that spot.

Hamilton really has little value with Rafaela taking ALL on the time at SS. you'd still want a backup SS and Hamilton can run as well so I'd assume Valdez goes down to keep regular AB and hopefully re-find his swing. Would assume Hamilton then goes down when Romy is back Agree, it make more since for Valdez to go down. If he can get productive with the bat, he could always replace Hamilton.
