Cespedes ranked as the 9th best prospect in the complex leagues. linkA bit generic, but nice to see him amongst players from both AZ and FL and generally guys with much higher bonuses.

Its obviously way too small of a sample size but I wonder if Antonio Anderson just ends up being a full-time right handed hitter. Will continue to watch his splits closely but he is hitting .292 vs lefties (7/24) and .093 vs righties (10/107). Maybe he'd hit righties better right handed.

Miguel Bleis is now at .233/.324/.367, which is actually good for a 107 wRC+ since nobody is hitting down there. Strikeouts are down, quality of contact is still there. I am still feeling good about him.

I am still feeling good about him. Agreed, he’s been fine. Salem is miserable to hit in, I wish they would change the height of the outfield walls at minimum. I don’t think Bleis should be rushed by any means, but I can’t wait for him to be in Greenville.

Salem game will start around 8:30 for any of those interested. They've been delayed for over two hours.

Off the bat I though that was going to land in front of the OF and it landed on the warning track

How do you evaluate AAA hitters? A guy like Kavadas lighting it up, but then you look at Valdez and Dalbec who are also ripping up AAA but couldn't hit a thing in the MLB.

Ugly swing, but quick and compact. Mayer's swing OTOH, smooth as butter.

What’s with his front leg? His front/left foot starts close to the plate, right at the edge of the box. It lands farther away from the plate than his back foot. And in between, it seems like there isn’t much movement or weight transfer towards the pitcher. It’s like his front foot moves mostly horizontally/45 degree angle to open up his body to the pitcher. How is he generating power? And is this what he’s doing every PA, or is he specifically trying to go the other way in this clip?

Not by looking purely at results. Kavadas still swings and misses in the zone a decent amount. He sees a ton of pitches, which is good, but as a TTO guy with swing and miss, you've got to adjust expectations regarding what he'll do against MLB pitching. He's got good judgment as far as the zone, which is good, but I've always thought he'd have a hard time with pitchers who can throw quality pitches in the zone. Pretty big L/R split too. We recorded a pod last night and discussed a little about how maybe he gets a shot if one of the new guys is still really struggling after a month or so, but again, I'm tempering expectations.
