Before I get laughed off, I thought long and hard about a trade of Trout. His contract isn't great, like at all, but he can play the field when he's on the field. I would want to move him to LF if the Sox brought him here.
So something like Masataka Yoshida, Yorke, and Bleis
For Trout and pay down half the salary on the last three years of his 37-39 seasons.
I think the Yoshida contract is hindering the Sox in the future. I think this should be one of the last years the Sox should be experimenting with Devers at 3B. If he has another poor showing numbers wise defensively, the Sox should shift him to DH and part time 1B/3B. Vaughn Grissom shifts to third base, he has the arm to do it. Use to be a SS. Story shifts to second base in 2025, Mayer promoted to SS in 2025.
The lineup in 2024 would be- Grissom 2B Casas 1B Trout CF/DH Devers 3B O'Neil LF Abreau RF Story SS Rafaela CF Wong C
With the idea of a ideal lineup in 2025 of- Roman Anthony CF Casas 1B Trout LF Devers DH Story 2B Abreau RF Grissom 3B Mayer SS Teel/Wong C
Reduce Trout's risk of getting injured playing LF Fenway. Get him some more DH at bats in the future and add much needed RH power to the lineup in future year. All while improving defensively a lot by getting Devers to the DH spot where he probably belongs and let him be Ortiz and focus on hitting.

If I were the Angels I wouldn't want to trade my franchise player for an overpaid DH, a middling 2b prospect and a prospect coming off a disappointing injury plagued season.
Right now and for the foreseeable future, Mike Trout would be the only reason I'd go to see an Angels game if I were an Angels fan.
If Trout were to be moved or want a franchise cornerstone piece. Yoshids, Yorke, and Bleis are probably 3 average-ish regulars if Bleis develops reasobably well.
