Really looking forward to this series. Want to see what Doubront and Lackey do against a good lineup. Looks like we're going to get good years from; Buchholz, Lester and Dempster as long as they stay healthy. If those 4 and 5 guys can keep the line moving. We're going to have a good season.
The game tonight is on MLB Network for those outside of New England.

The game tonight is on MLB Network for those outside of New England. I have MLB TV so it's hard to complain, but the Sox have rarely been televised this season I believe. I understand they're coming off their worst season in 40+ years, but there's no reason Sunday night baseball should feature Dodgers vs Giants as opposed to a matchup between the two winningest teams, especially when it's Lester vs Darvish...

Us Red Sox fans have been a little spoiled in the past 10 years or so, I was surprised and honestly excited to see Braves-Nats get prime time national coverage on ESPN on back to back nights recently. And to be fair, the Giants are reigning WS champs and the Dodgers are reigning Hot Stove champs.

The game tonight is on MLB Network for those outside of New England. You know what really sucks. Living in a west part of Connecticut where NESN is not part of the package, but they still own the rights so they block out MLB TV or any other reasonably priced way to watch the Red Sox. Nationally broadcasted games are like holidays to me.

I don't like this weekends pitching match ups.
Unless lDoubrount has his very best stuff, and we get Lester's A game, this could be a difficult weekend.
About 69% of games are won by the team starting the better pitcher.
About 60% of the time, this formula works every time!

Whom would you have started in their place to make for a better matchup?

Made 4pm in Los Angeles the best time of day all year long!

So, Napoli's numbers right now are nothing short of mind-boggling, and in more ways than you can imagine. Looking at his FanGraphs stats, he's on track for 127 extra-base hits and an ISOP of .310! I don't think that's going to happen forever. But digging deeper reveals a few more unsustainables, I believe. Maybe Napoli has taken his new position in the heart of the batting order seriously and ramped up his game. That might help to explain all those extra-base hits, I suppose. And, maybe some of those swings and misses?.. his K rate is over 34%! All of that is currently sustained by the biggest un-sustainable of all, his .400 BABIP. So there will be regression. Hopefully that means fewer swings and misses, so more contact, likely less power, but probably a more sustainable BABIP. Or... does he just keep bashing? Stay tuned.

The Flyin Hawaiian is back tonight. Here's the line-up.
Ellsbury - CF Victorino - RF Pedey - 2B Ortiz - DH Napoli - 1b Gomes - LF WMB - 3B Salty - C Ciriaco - SS
Nava puts us up in the 9th on a pinch-hit. Hammer closes it out. There I'm calling my shot

Hopefully Buchholz taught Doubront how to cheat well cause we need a 7 innings of less than three run baseball outing out of him tonight.

"I don't like this weekends pitching match ups." ------------------------------------- They aren't favorable. One win would be solid. RS could get fairly decent P and still get swept.

Despite his awful facial hair, Derek Holland is one of those guys I really wanted playing for the Red Sox. I don't know why, I just love to watch him pitch.
But then again, people on this board would trash him every time he didn't pitch 7 innings, so what would be the point right?

Not sure where the ump is at this point. At least two really good pitches by Doubront down in the zone called balls.
