Thank you for the accolades. I think the plan now is hope Cunningham passes though waivers and put him on the PS and pick up a QB who's available. I think the rules allow for an emergency QB, so Cunningham will be available. Heck, he might even put Zappe on the PS.
No matter what you think of Bill, he's always interesting.

Wow Wade making team after last year being a healthy scratch when we had all those CB injuries while two guys on PS played is a shocker. Reports said he had a good camp though. Maybe the light finally came on.

Perry reporting Wade made the 53. Honestly, that surprises me more than Zappe. Someone (Callahan maybe) had Boutte on the 53

1 QB is trending on X right now. It's time to bring back Patriots legend Cam Newton.

So Montgomery, Ferentz, Giles-Harris and Perkins were released.
McDermott and Bolden to IR (can't return)
Davis and Flowers to PUP.

As suggested previously, seems like Reiff and Thornton could end up on IR later this week.
QB and RB possible spots to add back.

Per Twitter people in Patriots building are shocked at Zappe release. What does that even mean? What people? The ones who have nothing to do with personnel?

During his media session, when asked, Matthew Slater said he was "very surprised." But he didn't look "shocked," or even concerned. Maybe Ben Volin is listening to fake cafeteria workers again?

McDermott and Bolden were prior to Final 53 so they are ineligible to return. Reiff and Thornton would be eligible if they are moved this week.

Has a team every had their first 53 roster with one QB and only two RBs?
There has to be many moves to come, price of keeping 11 OL till they figure out who to keep.

Turns our I was entirely wrong on my OL analysis! Maybe one of them can be backup QB too.
(Lots will change by week 2 I'm sure)

Remember when people were saying how good the 2022 draft was? Turns out it’s basically trash.

That 2022 class kinda hangs on Jack Jones and what happens with him. Strange, Marcus and Jack Jones with Robert's, plus some developmental guys isn't a bad class. It was always a messed up class because they way overdrafted two players.

Only option for backup QB I'm seeing that might be an upgrade and makes sense is Case Keenum, who they'd have to trade for. Proven veteran, played for our OC before, was darn good in preseason game against us. Guy that might be able to help Mac Jones.

Will Grier wouldn’t surprise me
I’m not surprised you’re seeing some of these offensive players picked in 2022 gone- they were picked for a different scheme. Another way Patricia set them back

Right now they're looking for a blocking TE and a QB better than Zappe. The TE might be easy to find. The QB not so easy. So, they'll bring back Zappe. Also, JJ Taylor. He did too much to let go and they need another RB. The initial 53 is just that. Very fluid. Things will change.
Anyway, yesterday was very interesting and got a lot of headlines around the league. A lot of dreams were squashed, but that's reality in the NFL.

According to Dianna Russini (good get for the Athletic btw), the hope is that Bailey will clear waivers and return as the backup. Would imagine that means signed back to the 53 once other moves are made (of course, they could do PS and elevate him a couple of times before having to make the move to a full-time spot).
EDIT- FWIW, Giardi is saying the opposite is true. Prefer a vet.
