Five goals in 30 minutes. Didn't think that was possible. This is going to be tough on the host country.

USA women will play Japan for World Cup Championship, Sunday night on Fox.
England knocked out. They scored the winning goal on themselves, right at the end, yikes.

USA all over Japan in the early going 4 to 0.
USA wins 5 to 2. First World Cup since 1999. USA becomes the first women's team with 3 World Cups. Congrats.

If you don't care about the U.S. dominating the world, then I don't wanna know you.

Not sure how old you are, but they have been trying to force soccer on us with these articles for well over 30 years. People get excited for the Olympics or World Cup and then that's about it until the next time the US has a good team.

The ratings are what they are.

Then everyone stops watching until the next time and then they print more of the same articles like that one.

You must not have kids. I didn't even play soccer as a boy. My kids and grad kids all played.

The game yesterday was a lot of fun. I will likely watch some USMNT soccer tomorrow and hte rest of this month and then proceed to not care about club soccer in the USA. It's tough to follow the sport fanatically when I don't have a home team, or when my home team is a glorified minor-league team for Europe.
And that's coming from someone who played growing up and still does.
That said, if the revs played games in the city, I really do think I would start going to them. And then I'd probably start watching on TV too.

I think it's incremental. In my lifetime (31 if you must know), I feel like there's been an increase in interest in the major events like the World Cup, as well as increased interest in things like the Premiership.
Could be from growing older and making friends in different demographics, but when you have things like EPL games on NBC Sports on weekend mornings, it shows that there is SOME progress made there. It's just not being made in the ways they may have thought years ago - for example, I don't think it's coming in the form of interest in MLS/the U.S. professional league generally, or at least as completely as may have been predicted.
Yes, a lot of people who watch the NCAA Basketball tournament aren't college basketball fans - it doesn't mean that the event, and thus the sport, isn't more popular, y'know?

I think this is right on. JimEd might feel it's being forced on him, but it's more like a slow water leak. It goes where it goes.

I know I'll get crushed go this, but Bradley's one of the more overrated players I've seen.
He'll score a great goal every now and again, but he's become a turnover machine. Not a trait you want from your center midfielder.

Jamaica upsets the USA 2 to 1.
No crushing wcp. The early lose play killed them.

USA loses to Panama in shoot out for the 3rd place/consolation game. I didn't watch, so don't know how they played.
I thought they could win this tourney.
